MESSAGE FROM THE WESTERN CAPE MINISTER OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS, SPORT AND RECREATION, MR. SAKKIE JENNER

It is indeed an honour for me, as the Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs, Sport and Recreation, to express my support for this very prized race.

This race has grown from an event with only 27 participants, in 2002, to a race which now attracts international entrants.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sports commends you for your efforts in empowering disabled people to join clubs, compete but more so participate in an international event such as this.

As Government we are extremely proud of this event and want to wish all the competitors, both locally and from abroad well during the race. We are filled with pride, when looking at how this challenge has grown to an event which has placed South Africa on the map for wheelchair racing.

We hope that this event will grow from strength to strength.

Yours Sincerely

Minister Sakkie Jenner

Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs, Sport and Recreation
